Talofa lava, and welcome.
We Leave Our Islands is a reflective and hopeful choral work from Mālaga: The Journey, with music and lyrics by Tuilagi Dr Igelese Ete, choirmaster of Disney's Moana and music supervisor for the film Tinā.
The song honours the voyage of our Pacific people, who leave their islands in search of a better life. Through rough seas and burning sun, they come to realise that they are one. It is a song of courage, unity and hope for āiga across Moana Nui a Kiwa and beyond.
